Balley Cracker

This year our dear friends Jim and Anne-AKA Grampy Jim and Grammy Anne to Lorelai and Miller-were kind enough to let us come see their kids' Christmas lights show which is put to music. Lorelai is going through a phase right now where she loves The Nutcracker ballet, but she calls it the "balley (sounds like "alley") cracker." When one of The Nutcracker songs came on when we were looking at the Christmas lights she yelled to me, "Mommy, balley cracker, picture of me." Gotta love that kid!

Four Christmases

This year we celebrated Christmas four times. We started out by eating dinner at Grandma and Pap's house on Christmas Eve.

Lorelai had a great time playing with a Happy Meal toy.

Loading up and ready to aim and fire.

Grandma Catherine used oven mitts while playing goalie. Pap and Miller were a great cheering section.
Have you ever seen a more handsome boy?
Half the fun of building with blocks...
...is knowing you'll get to do it again very, very soon.

Joining the Ranks

Our little man is now sitting up with the best of them, for the most part, anyway. He's still a little off balance at times, but I caught a few shots when he was holding himself up. He seems very proud of his new accomplishment, especially toward the end when he is sporting his trademark mile-wide smile.

Our Miller Man

Our little man has the biggest smile ever!So serious.

Managing a smile-of sorts.
That's more like it.

Back to uncertainty.
Apparently he was just testing us.

Old Wives Tales

Apparently we're not very superstitious around here since Lorelai is opening up umbrellas indoors and reenacting scenes from Singin' in the Rain.

This one is my favorite.

Frugal Fun

As parents, we all know that we shell out ridiculous amounts of money on gifts we're sure our kids will love and then when we pick up $1 junk at the store they act like it's the best thing they've ever seen. Case in point: Lorelai's new Tinkerbell ribbon dancer that I bought at Blockbuster, of all places.

Here she is showing off her fancy swirls and twirls.

She was also eager to show off her fancy moves to Miller.
Here she is apologizing after she hit him in the head. Guess we'll have to work on her depth perception.

It Just Goes To Show

It just goes to show how different two siblings can be. Lorelai was never a thumb sucker or really had much of an "object attachment." Miller, on the other hand, is definitely a self-soother.

O' Christmas Tree (Branch)

Well it looks a little more like the Christmas branch from Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas given that it's serving as the main tree for our family, but considering it was only supposed to be in Lorelai's room I think it's doing a marvelous job!

This post doesn't contain any pictures of it fully decorated, but the pictures we take on Christmas morning will have more ornaments and the topper.

Merry Mayhem

Here's the final installment of our Christmas photo shoot.

Colleen happened to catch Lorelai twirling around with her hands on her hips. Very in character of our precocious little one.

Contemplated using this one as our Christmas card photo, but Lorelai's smile looked a little too much like a pirate's.

Here's the one that finally made the cut. In retrospect I'm thinking I should have picked the other one.
Pucker up everybody.

Not sure if she looks sweet or guilty.
Peek-a-boo! I wonder if she thinks doing that means people can't see him.
