Dan & His Little Gumdrop

Dan and I used to call Lorelai "The Muffin," Thea Caro calls her "The Littlest," and Rob, Lisa, and Sierra call her "Baby Lailai." Dan and I, for some unknown reason, have started referring to her as "The Gumdrop." Here are a few pictures of Dan and his "sweet" little girl. One night Dan brought Lorelai down after her bath and told me to grab the camera. They were both wearing Lorelai's tiny baseball caps. Adorable!!

All Bundled Up

Here are some pictures of Lorelai dressed up for the chilly morning outside. It was in the 20s when she and Dan left the house this morning. Brrr!

Hank & Company

Here are some pictures of Hank at age 2 1/2 months. Also included you will find Katie and JJ (the proud parents) and Dan's aunt and uncle (Diane and Bob), the doting grandparents.

Another L & L Sighting

Since they haven't seen each other in a while, Jamie and I decided it was time for Lorelai and Landon (L & L) to hang out again. It was tough to get them to play on the same equipment at the same time, but we did our best. Guess that's just another joy of having toddlers-they are more independent and have the mobility to enforce it. :)

Getting reacquainted.
Giving the equipment a once over before committing to a location.

Lorelai and me at the top of the next-to-largest slide. Jamie snapped this photo but then freed her hands up to catch Lorelai at the bottom.
Landon bracing himself for a wild ride.
Just chillin'.
Who knew it was possible for one picture to capture an entire personality?! Great job, Jamie!!

Happy Belated Halloween

Dan's cousin, Lauren, lives in Florida and e-mailed these pictures of her adorable daughter, Elle, dressed up for Halloween. I especially like the pictures of her in the aquarium.

Creative Cousin

Sarah made these costumes for Grace and Elizabeth. Grace wanted to be a pink poodle and it appears as though her mom really delivered. How adorable!!

Incentive

As many of you may know, I have been struggling with my weight for quite some time. Dan and I have made a command decision to take control of our weight management and adopt a healthier lifestyle. I state this because I am threatening myself with a weekly weigh-in blog post if I don't stay on track. Yikes!! Hope this is good motivation to eat well and exercise each week. If I have a good week I don't have to post my progress, but if I do poorly you'll see my weight visiable for all on the Internet. How's that for incentive?!

My Favorite Day

As I have already alluded to on many different occasions, Halloween is my favorite holiday-and for that matter, my most favorite day of the year. I enjoy the opportunity to throw caution to the wind and dress up completely out of character. Ironically enough, one of the self-portraits I took this year on this most festive of days is probably one of my most favorite pictures of me ever taken. Not exactly sure what I was supposed to be as the costume was open to interpretation, but I did get rave reviews regardless of its ambiguity

1st Official Halloween

Last year we passed on the whole trick-or-treating thing since Lorelai was too young to walk around on her own and really get into the "spirit of the season." This year we decided to go out with Rob, Lisa, Sierra, and Chase so all of the kiddos could enjoy this festive holiday together.

Lorelai was a dragon this year. Dan loves dragons and here he is with his most favorite little mythological creature.
Since it was a fairly gender neutral costume we added a hot pink bow. This picture also gives a good view of the back of our little dragon.

Practicing her roar/growl.
Chase resting soundly before all of the excitement begins.
Sierra enjoying a sweet treat before hitting the neighborhood.
She was precious as Snow White.

Lorelai's trick-or-treat bag. We got it at Swoozie's (shocker!) and will eventually get her name put on the other side.
She had a good start on getting goodies after her party at day care.
Following in her cousin's footsteps by savoring a lollipop before getting more goodies. *She was actually just gnawing on the wrapper.*
Once we arrived back at Rob and Lisa's house we took a few more pictures before heading home.
Uncle Rob and Sierra going in for a close look at Baby Lailai.
Dan looks like a bit like a giant in Sierra's tiny wingback chair.
A perfect fit for the littlest Lorelai.
