A Walk in the Park

Actually it was a train ride around the park, but the other title was much more catchy. Over the weekend my parents and I took Lorelai and William to Heritage park while Dan was on a golf trip and William's mom, Laura, was out of town on business. It was a long, hot day but the kids had a fabulous time, which in the end is what it's all about.

Before we even made it to the park Lorelai crashed for a 10-minute power nap.
Enjoying lunch from the best seat in town, Granddaddy's lap.

Bracing herself for the train ride to come.
Waving to Grandmother as we rode past her resting spot on a swing.
The Crosby/Jacob trio getting ready to take a second ride on the train. I know this isn't a great photo, but it's the only one where they're all even remotely looking in my direction.

Her First Convertible

Two weekends ago we decided to transition Lorelai to her toddler bed. She has done remarkably well considering she's able to open her bedroom door and can come and go as she pleases. So far she has stayed in her bed, though, and doesn't put up too much of a fuss when it's time to go to sleep. We considered converting her crib into her "big girl" bed but haven't done so for two reasons. 1. We are having a hard time getting our hands on the rails to covert it to a standard bed since the store we bought it from doesn't sell our particular make and model anymore (go figure). 2. In all honesty she's barely bigger than a pillow anyway. :)

Resting peacefully in her "new" bed.
Naptime, glorious nap time.

Glamour Girls

For Easter I gave Lorelai and Sierra a bag of goodies instead of a traditional Easter basket. It was filled with things like sidewalk chalk, candy necklaces, and fairy dress-up items.

Before diving into their bags Lorelai and Sierra were playing with a pair of novelty glasses.
Coming out from under her disguise.

Perhaps getting the girls megaphones was a bad idea. :)

The Napping House

Last weekend I went grocery shopping and came home to "The Napping House." Here are a few photos of my precious family snuggled up together.

A-Hunting We Will Go

Om Easter Sunday we spent the afternoon with the Jacob side of the family at Rob and Lisa's house. They hosted lunch and an Easter egg hunt. Everyone had a great time!

Originally Lorelai and Sierra were sitting on Pap's lap. I tried to get a picture of all of them, but by the time I got my camera out Lorelai had decided she didn't want to be in limelight. Therefore, she was photographed in the shadows.
Sierra and Pap, on the other hand, were photographed in impeccable lighting.

Wasting no time once the announcement is made for the hunt to begin, Lorelai grabs her Easter basket and gets ready to head out the door.
The hunt is on!!

Even Pap was a hiding place.

Hangin' on the front lawn after all of the goodies have been found.

To Dye For

On Friday night we were invited to Uncle Rob and Aunt Lisa's to dye Easter eggs. We quickly accepted the invitation. This was Lorelai's first year participating in any sort of Easter festivities so we weren't really sure what to expect. Aside from a few spills and dyed clothing and body parts, things went pretty smoothly.

Ready to dive into the fun.
Taking a dip.

Checking on the progress. Still looking a little pale.
Much better.
Sierra taking a status report with the appropriate tools.
Just love the expression on her face.
Ditto for this precious one.
More waiting while the colors get dark enough.
Just because Chase isn't old enough to actually dye the eggs doesn't mean he can't be a good quality inspector.

Notice how her right hand is a lovely shade of orange from having her hand in the cups of dye.

Giddyup

Grandmother and Granddaddy lovingly bought Lorelai a rocking horse for Christmas. Up until 3 weekends ago she has been utterly terrified of it. We put it in her closet and every now and again she would wave at it, but nothing more. Recently she hung out with me in her closet while I put her clothes away and for some unknown reason decided it was time to make friends with said rocking horse. Now she adores him.

Giving him some much needed TLC after shunning him for 3 months.
Climbing aboard.

Starting off at a slow trot.
Off at a full gallop!

Up Close and Personal

Last time my ultrasound pictures left quite a bit to be desired. Luckily we had a different tech this time and she was much more willing to work until the results we wanted were obtained, like the side view we had hoped for previously. Quite unexpectedly, though, she gave us numerous 3-D pictures. Here are his lanky legs and feet.

Hiding his face from the paparazzi.

Channeling his inner Dracula/vampire, sans cape. Isn't he handsome? :)
