One Wild Little Monkey

Lorelai loves dancing, spinning, and jumping around-usually until she falls down dizzy. Here's a portrait of a typical day around our house.Pretending she's a butterfly.

Running in circles like a little wild woman.
Up, up, and away!

Barbie and the New Rocker

Many of you may remember that once upon a time Barbie had a musical group called "Barbie and the Rockers." Our neighbor generously gave Lorelai a Barbie piano so we now have a new generation of "Rockers" beginning in our midst. Here are some pictures of the budding musician and her precious new instrument. My mom decorated the stool in the last picture which serves perfectly as a miniature piano bench.

Treats from Mama Beth

Beth, my co-worker and very close friend, always gets Lorelai and Miller the sweetest and most thoughtful little treats, especially when holidays come around. For Halloween she gave them trick-or-treat bags and she gave Lorelai several sweet treats. One of them was a shish kebab type lollipop.

Mmmm!

I just threw this one in there because I love how animated she gets, even when she's watching something she's already seen about 20 times

Fairy Godmother

One of my dearest friends, Mary Beth, is Miller's godmother. She absolutely adores him and is convinced he is a little piece of heaven on earth. Here are a few pictures of her with her precious godson.

A Chef in the Making

Lorelai loves to help me cook. While I was making quesadillas last week she wanted to get in on the fun. I gave her a spare skillet, spatula, and tortilla and she set up shop on the living room floor. Every good cook has to taste their work.

Giving it a little flip.

One more taste to make sure it's not poisoned.
Very pleased with her culinary creation.

Caped Crusader

When I took Lorelai's blanket - or as she calls it, her "bibbet"- out of the dryer I wrapped it around her shoulders. She happened to be on her rocking horse at the time. She insisted on wearing it around her shoulders like a cape.

A New Friend

Here is Lorelai with her new friend that she named all by herself: "Lou."

Headbands All Around

I recently bought some headbands for Lorelai since she keeps brushing the hair out of her eyes. Of course, Little Miss Independent had to put the headband on by herself so it's not really keeping the hair out of her face, but she was thrilled with her new "toy" so I didn't bother with correcting her.Her "Happy Headband" dance.

Naturally she had to share her headbands with Miller since she had several. (We're still working on sharing when we only have one of any item.)
Must say that Miller doesn't look to be a very willing participant.
If looks could kill.
Warming up to the idea-either that or this brings new meaning to the phrase "grin and bear it."

The Fine Art of Sharing

I gave Miller Lorelai's old toy keys to play with this morning. Of course, as soon as Lorelai saw that he had them she acted as if they were the only toy she owned. Eventually she let him have them, although I'm quite sure it was done completely under protest.

Miller Man and his new toy.

Managing a smile even though his sister just stole his keys! (Perhaps he's smiling because he's plotting his revenge.)
You know how I love candid shots! It looks like he's blocking her kiss.
Now he's going to punch her in the face.
I actually bribed her to put her arm around him. She earned 2 candy corns for her generous effort, but as far as I'm concerned it was totally worth it!

One Last Hurrah

I had forgotten about these pictures, but right before Miller was born we cleaned up his room and got all of the ol' baby gear out for him. We also got his clothes ready for his arrival. Here's Lorelai in her old swing and a pair of Miller's Thomas the Train shoes that will probably fit him when he's about three.

Pancake Breakfast

Last Sunday morning I made pancakes and bacon for breakfast. A rare treat around these parts. Naturally our darling daughter, who is becoming more independent and grown up with each passing day, wanted to be my helper. Forgive the fact that these are a bit out of chronological order.

Stirring the batter.
The official taste test.

Hmm...no wonder they're served with syrup.
Chowing down.
Just a fun, candid shot.
Too bad she won't smile like this for our "professional" pictures.

I adore this picture of her. Nothing's better than comfy, mismatched pajamas.
