Buggy Baby

Last weekend Dan was playing in a tennis match so I got to take our little one grocery shopping with me. As anyone who has children knows, shopping without your children is MUCH easier than shopping with them. As Lorelai gets older she wants to be more mobile and it's very difficult to get her to sit still. Even when she's buckled in she somehow manages to wriggle out and stand up. On this particular outing I eventually put her in the back of the buggy while we were checking out. Don't worry-she's not being squished at all.

Here she was trying to stand on the groceries to climb out. What an opportunist!

Sleeping Beauties

When I arrived home from my Jazzercise class on Thursday afternoon the house was totally silent. Dan had picked up Lorelai from day care and I guess they were both worn out. How precious!

Maggie

I have mentioned to lots of you how much Lorelai loves the show "The Buzz on Maggie." Here is a picture of Maggie.

July 5th Celebration

On Saturday, July 5, we attended the annual party in Ma and Pap's neighborhood to celebrate Independence Day. It was held on the 5th so that the attendees could celebrate on the 4th and it wouldn't interfere with their attendance at our shinding. Here are numerous pictures from the festive occasion.

Hanging out in Ma's lap. Love these socks that we got at Swoozie's.
Laughing at Uncle Rob doing magic tricks.
Playing with one of the light-up clappers that Ma got for the neighborhood kids.
Can't believe how blond her hair looks in this picture! Where did she get that from? :)
Dan, Lorelai, and I arrived several hours early so Dan could get all of the fireworks unwrapped for the big pyrotechnics display.

"Fireworks Dan" getting ready for the big show.

Uncle Rob and Uncle Tree lending helping hands.

Thea Caro arrived just before the fireworks began. She came with Brick House coffee in tow and gave Lorelai a few yummy tastes of the caramel, chocolate, and whipped cream. What's better than that?!

Still looking for more tasty treats while Thea Caro smiles for the camera.
Dan and Uncle Ryan, along with Uncle Rob and Uncle Tree, had a great time playing bocce ball while waiting for darkness to fall so the fireworks could begin.
Mother/daughter self-portrait.
Lorelai and Pap.
Olivia, one of Ma and Pap's next door neighbors, tried to read a story to Lorelai. Little Miss Squirmy wasn't having any of it.A much better picture of Lorelai, Olivia, and Dan.
Olivia's younger sister, Charlotte. Two weeks ago, Dan and I took Lorelai to Swoozie's and put her in a miniature papasan. She sat in it for the longest time and really seemed to like it. We decided to get it for her since the weight limit is 150 lbs. and we figured she could use it for quite a while. Guess too much excitement was happening at the party because we had a hard time getting her to sit still in the chair.

Guess she just needed some incentive to get comfy.
Sierra showing her patriotism.

Sierra's favorite color is green and she had a great time playing with Lorelai's froggie toys.
We got the girls matching outfits for the celebration. They were adorable! Of course, with two mommies taking pictures it's difficult to get both girls looking at the right camera at the right time.
Have to make sure the hairdo is just right.
Of course the precious posing didn't last too long.

Finally, a seated picture of our angels, in which Sierra is giving Lorelai a hug. Too bad they're not looking at my camera. Oh well, they look great anyway! :)

First Words

When we left the big "5th of July" party on Saturday, which I will post pictures from very soon, Lorelai gave Sierra a hug and it sounded like she said "bye, bye." Of course, we all know how it is with parenting. You want them to talk so badly that sometimes gurgles and garbles sound like words. Well, yesterday Lorelai started saying "dada" and today I attempted to capture it in my cell phone. She will say it upon request although not specifically in reference to Dan. *Warning: She lets out a bit of a shriek at the end of the video which is quite loud.*

Fluor's Fun "Fourth"

Dan works at Fluor and last weekend they had a company picnic, complete with carnival rides and a fireworks celebration.

Sierra riding shotgun on "The Caterpillar."
Dan was taking this picture while he was holding Lorelai.
Next, he decided to attempt a father/daughter portrait.
This is the best picture I could get of Lorelai's adorable, festive onesie.

Sierra looking quite angelic.
Caught off guard.
Now they're ready! What fantastic smiles!
We got a few pictures of William. Here he was saying, "Cheese."
What a fun hairdo!
Fishing for prizes.
The "catch of the day."
Lorelai and Sierra won the same Elmo prize at the fishing hole.

Me with my two best girls! (Aunt Lisa was taking a picture, too. That's why both girls are looking elsewhere.)
