Random Pictures

These are pictures that I love that for some reason or another were either left out of other posts or just didn't have enough corresponding pictures to make it onto the blog in the past.

Giving a huge smile for the camera. Sorry it's crooked, but she was in her car seat and I was taking it from the front seat while we were stopped at a red light.
This was taken from the back seat once we stopped at our destination. Her new thing is sticking her tongue out. It is adorable!
Chilling out in only a diaper as she refused to put her pajamas back on after a diaper change and I didn't want to risk messing up her outfit before we headed out for the day.
Intently watching something on Playhouse Disney.

Having a few laughs.Sierra inside one of the Moonwalks at her birthday party. Her dad, Lorelai's Uncle Rob, was playing catch with his niece, so Sierra and I shared a few unspoken moments together. My handsome husband.
Enjoying more funny moments on Disney Channel.A few precious moments with her grandparents.
Checking Mary Beth out once she put on her shades.
Letting Mary Beth hold her once she was comfortable with her.
The same evening that we were out to eat with Mary Beth, I met up with an old friend, Summer, who was dining at the same restaurant. At the time, Lorelai was going through a bit of a phase where she wasn't very fond of being held by anyone besides Dan and me. Poor Summer!

Lynn, a friend of the family who performed the wedding ceremony for Dan and me, isn't much of a baby person. This picture was taken at Lynn's birthday celebration prior to everyone else arriving. Lorelai was still in her "only want my parents" phase. Later on, my mom begged Lynn to hold Lorelai but he refused time and time again. Lynn and I just looked at each other and winked as we both knew he had held her earlier, which for Lynn is quite monumental. He is a bit of a pushover where I'm concerned and is coming around to Lorelai slowly, but surely. Trying to scale the giant bag of cat food.
I think it's bigger than she is.

Classics

Recently I bought Lorelai a few classic toys that I remember having when I was younger. The first was a bucket of shapes with a lid to fit the shapes into. Of course Lorelai can't play with it appropriately yet, but she still seems to enjoy it.

Would you believe she actually tried to eat the shapes?! :)Every now and then she would get a correct match and reward herself by clapping them together. Hooray! On this particular day all she cared about doing was dumping the shapes out after Mommy put them back in over and over again.

She loved this toy. She typically started putting the lids down at #1 unless they were opened out of order and she went for the first one that was opened.

Sometimes I would just open one or two of them just to see if it would bother her enough to change activities and close them. It did.
If one or two of them proved to be problematic and wouldn't close after a few tries, she would take the handle and flip the whole toy so that the lids would shut. What ingenuity!

New Name, New Foods, And An Old Favorite

Lorelai and I met my mom, now going by Grandmother instead of C.C., for Lorelai anyway, at Mimi's Cafe for lunch. One of the waitresses was nice enough to bring Lorelai a small plate full of goodies. It had a small cup of Cheerios, an orange slice, and saltine crackers. Here are some cute photos of our luncheon together.

Lorelai opening up for her first taste of an orange. She is very trusting and will open her mouth for any food item.
Giving it a try on her own.

Getting the wrong end of the stick, or in this case, the orange. After she tasted the rind she got a full body shiver. It was hilarious! Grandmother giving her an old favorite, sweet tea. She has a look of anticipation on her face because she knows what's coming. Lorelai truly is a southern girl. :)

Mmm! The perfect end to a great meal.

An Evening With The Guys

Dan had a few close friends over to hang out, watch hockey, and play "Risk" on Monday night. Here are a handful of pictures from the evening.

Although Lorelai has been given more fabulous hand-me-downs that I can even fathom, I still can't help buying her a few cute outfits, particularly when they are on sale. This ensemble was purchased at Babies R Us, along with 2 shirts that match these shorts and 2 tennis dresses, when I went in for a diaper bag. Good grief!

Uncle Tree trying to avoid being photographed.
Gotcha! (Lorelai trying to ingest a Publix sub, wrapper and all.) Had to redo this post once everyone arrived and Dan invited me into the world of "Risk" to snap a few pictures. Have no idea what they are doing in the pictures as I have never played it before, so I will just identify everyone and leave it at that. Clockwise from the window: Brian, Dan, Ryan, and Tree. (At least the dining room is finally being used for something other than collecting dust-LOL).

A Day Out With The Girls

Thea Caro, Lorelai, and I spent Memorial Day together while Dan ran errands. First, we met at Brixx Cafe in the Shoppes at Greenridge. For those of you who live in the Greenville area and have yet to try Brixx, I highly recommend it.

Thea Caro making funny faces at Lorelai. Lorelai still warming up to her as we don't see her too often as of late. Hope that will change once school is out for the summer.
Reading a new Elmo book together.
Lorelai and Thea Caro "giving love," as we call it in our house when someone is lightly head-butted. It all started because Katie, our fearless feline, brushed up against people with her head and we said that she was "giving love." Guess it carried over into people doing it, as well.
I look quite happy while she looks unsure.

A bit of role reversal. Probably one of the best shots of her outfit for the day. I thought it was very summery.
Having a snack while the adults eat their lunch.
Just thought this was a cute picture.

After lunch we headed to Swoozie's. Lorelai loved the Papasan chair.

Dancing to a Nat King Cole song with Thea Caro. Next stop, Barnes and Noble. Surprise, surprise! She doesn't care so much about playing with the trains as she does about eating them.
I will admit she did end up getting the train in her mouth, but for all of those who are germophobic, I decided to insert this photo instead. At least it's a toy of her own. Trying to scale the chair and ascend onto the train track. Thea Caro intervening to avoid a fall.
Getting a lift from Thea Caro. She didn't know both of them were being photographed, so I took one of just Lorelai, also.
Nothing like hanging out at Barnes and Noble and enjoying a little light reading. :)
